I learned to read a scene before I learned to take a picture.

My name is Jessica Di Salvo. I am a destination wedding photographer based between Germany and Italy and I have been half in both worlds my entire life. That in-between quality is in my work too: neither fully staged nor fully documentary. Somewhere in the space where people forget I am there.

I studied theatre, film, and media studies , which means I think about a scene before I photograph it. I consider the light, the rhythm of the day, the emotional architecture of what is about to happen. Then I wait. And then I photograph.

I work in English and German. I have stood inside celebrations across traditions, faiths, and countries, always as a respectful, genuinely curious observer.

I am at home in the unfamiliar.

Theatre, Film & Media Studies

I did not train to press a shutter. I trained to read a scene: composition, timing, the emotional logic of a room. I see frames before they happen because I spent years learning how stories are built from the inside out.

Street photography & exhibition

Street photography teaches one thing above all: you cannot ask the moment to wait. I have shown work in several exhibitions, each one built from images that exist because I was already watching.

A decade of travel

As a flight attendant I entered hundreds of unfamiliar situations, different cultures, different languages, different kinds of chaos. I learned to stay calm when others do not, to solve problems before they become visible, and to be at home in the unfamiliar.

It is never only about the two of you.

A wedding day holds more than one love story.

It holds the friend who has known you since before everything.

The parent who cannot find the words.

The sibling who tries not to cry and does anyway.

I watch for all of them. The glance across the table. The hand on a shoulder. The moment someone laughs and forgets where they are.

These are not supporting characters. They are the reason the day feels the way it does.
